This Privacy Policy covers the iOS applications developed and published by James Edward Lewis ("we", "us", "our"). Our currently available apps are ThinkFast and MicSplit.
Our apps are designed with privacy as a priority. They do not require an account, do not collect personal data, and contain no advertising.
⚡ Short version: Our apps do not collect, store, or share your personal data. What happens on your device stays on your device.
Our apps do not collect the following:
About the microphone: MicSplit uses your device's microphone, because recording audio is what it does. That audio is written only to your own device and is never sent to us or anyone else — see MicSplit's section below.
Our apps contain no third-party analytics SDKs (Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.) and no advertising networks.
No network access: ThinkFast never connects to the internet. It makes no network requests of any kind and works identically in Airplane Mode.
No stored data: ThinkFast saves nothing to your device. Quiz questions, word search progress and game state exist only in memory while the app is running, and are discarded when you close it.
No permissions: The app requests no system permissions at all — no location, camera, microphone, photos or contacts.
Consequences: The Consequences game mode is played entirely on one device, passed between players. Nothing written during a game leaves the device or is retained after the game ends.
Your recordings stay on your device. MicSplit writes audio to your device's own storage and nowhere else. Recordings are never uploaded, backed up to us, or transmitted anywhere. We cannot access them, and neither can anyone else without access to your device.
No network access: MicSplit makes no network requests of any kind. It has no account, no cloud service and no analytics, and works identically in Airplane Mode.
Microphone access: MicSplit asks for permission to use the microphone, because recording audio is the entire purpose of the app. The microphone is used only while you are recording or watching levels, and the audio it captures goes straight to a file on your device. You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings.
What is stored on your device: your recordings, and a small set of preferences — your chosen file format and the names you give each microphone. Nothing else. Deleting the app removes the preferences; recordings you have saved to Files remain until you delete them.
Sharing is yours to initiate: recordings leave your device only when you choose to share or export them, using Apple's own share sheet. Where they go after that is governed by whichever app or service you send them to.
Our apps are distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect data as part of the distribution process under their own privacy policy at apple.com/uk/legal/privacy.
Beyond Apple's distribution of the apps themselves, no external services are used. Neither ThinkFast nor MicSplit makes any network connection whatsoever.
Our apps do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Because no personal data is collected, they are suitable for all ages.
Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our apps after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
Previous versions: May 2025 and July 2026, superseded in August 2026 when Where's My Bus? was withdrawn from the App Store. Earlier versions are available on request.
